Being a responsible adult comes with a lot of, well, responsibilities. Managing your checkbook, paying bills, working, school, and maintaining relationships. The list goes on. With so much to juggle on your day-to-day, you couldn’t possibly fathom adding a pet into the equation right? WRONG. When most people hear the word pet they immediately think of a dog or cat however there are several low-maintenance animals that would be great for you in your Aperto apartment.
Start Small
First and foremost, if you are a new pet owner it is not in your best interest to go big; whether in size or obligation. A dog or cat sounds nice however these animals require much time and attention. If you have an extremely hectic schedule that may not be the kind of pet you want to begin with.
Small animals like beta fish or even a small rodent-like hamster are great because they are caged animals. They don’t require much time or attention. A fish abides in a fixed habitat so all you have to do is periodically fit feeding and tank maintenance into your schedule. Of course, if you’d like to spend more time familiarizing yourself with your newfound pet you can. However, if you just want one to have in your home these two are great options for you.
Cats & Dogs
In addition to having a small animal for a pet, this does not exclude cats and dogs as they come in different shapes and sizes. Our earlier suggestion was to those who have hectic schedules however to those who can add on an extra task or three having a furry friend can be beneficial in more ways than one. Small pets are cute and cuddly and a bit more widely accepted when it comes to being inside of stores, restaurants, and etc. Also, they are great conversation starters if they are a walking overload of cuteness.
Consider the option of a pet that works best for you and your lifestyle. Making the necessary adjustments to fit in a pet may be just what you need to add a little pizazz to your day-to-day!
