How To Make Moving Fun

A moving box filled with items

Moving can be quite a task. Boxing up your stuff to start a new life somewhere else is exciting and it should be an exciting process through and through. You may be asking, how can moving be fun? Well, today we are here to share a few valuable tips on how to make the process of moving fun.

Music

Music is a great pass time whether you are a listener or creator. Creating a packing playlist or even a fun playlist for the drive over to your new Aperto apartment is a great way to take a mental load off your hectic moving day.

Also once you make it to your new home, you can create a relaxing “unpacking “ playlist to help you focus on getting the job done. Unpacking your things after you officially move in is tedious and you can lose focus. Music is a great way to center your mind and keep you focused on a task at hand.

Decoration and Labeling

Next, another way to make moving fun is to personalize some for your boxes. Generally, after you load a box you just close it and get a permanent marker and you’re done. But that’s the boring way to pack. Try getting creative and drawing little icons or doodles to signify what items are inside. You can also color-code your boxes and as you load up the truck you’ll create an army of colorful blocks!

Unpacking Party

Lastly, the worst part of the move, UNPACKING. You never notice how much stuff you have until this phase of the move but don’t fret! There is a way to enjoy this as well. Try throwing an unpacking party. It can be a great way to bond with friends as well as getting the job done faster with extra help.

As you prepare to move take some time to plan out your process and don’t forget to make it fun!

Moving On A Budget

So you’ve decided to move and you can already feel the money draining from your account. From paying for your new Aperto apartment, to having to pack all your things, the materials to make that even possible…it just can all add up so fast! Well, creating a budget will allow you to know what you can and cannot do and also push you to find ways you can save. At any rate, moving is expensive so making everything count is IMPERATIVE.

Movers?

So first things first, whether you’re moving out our your mom and dad’s or just switching the scene of where you reside no one wants to really do the work *eye roll*. Packing all your clothes, personal items, furniture, possibly even some pets. It just all sounds tiring. However, when you need to save money, pessimism about a little labor that will keep some extra cash in your pocket will be your worst enemy. If you can afford movers, great. Just make sure to find some within an affordable range so that in case of incidentals, you have some cash flow to fall back on to replace the item.

Enlist some friends or family that will be dedicated enough to the cause to help you get the job done. Typically that will just result in favor for them down the line or maybe a large pizza and drinks as a thank you.

Affordable Living

Aperto offers affordable apartments designed with resident accommodation in mind. These are the best kind of places to look for during our current climate. No one really has money to blow so when apartment hunting, search for affordable homes within a budget you are sure can stick to; that’s incorporating your other responsibilities like utilities, groceries, etc.

Moving on a budget may be a bit difficult to do and sometimes it may take sacrificing a thing or two however what’s important is that you get the job done and not have to break your bank!
