It’s movie night! Find a good film or two, grab some snacks, a couple of drinks, and your couch/bed to snuggle up on and enjoy. Theoretically, those were the only things you would need pre-covid. Since the pandemic, we’ve all done the mentioned setup time and time again, it’s becoming slightly redundant, to say the least. Well, have no fear! We are here to share some tips on how to have a great movie night with just a little thought and creativity.
Film?
Picking what to watch is always the most time-consuming part of having a movie night so we thought starting here would be the most helpful. Film or documentary? Picking a theme for your movie night would first and foremost make selecting which films for your lineup a bit simpler. Scary movies are always a crowd favorite because I mean who doesn’t love a good scare? If you’re terrified of watching horror films whether alone or a different group opting for either a Comedy or Romance-themed films are more up your alley. For those of you who like to sip the tea, a good Drama film is always great; good plots and a twist sometimes feel just as scary as a horror film.
Last but not least, if you’re more of the informational media type of person, some good documentaries on true crime or even conspiracy theories will do the trick!
Food & Drinks
Snacks are a dime a dozen but if you’re going to have a successful movie night you should get some notes from your guests (if any) on which snacks they would like as well. Junk food is always the first go to but it’s ok to have some healthier options there as well.
