There are so many windows of opportunity when it comes to starting a new year. The New Year, New Me vibes are coming on stronger than usual due to us literally surviving one of the hardest years to date.  So much time isolated this year has allowed for a lot of introspection…soul searching if you will. With the pandemic continuing into the new year you might feel a little jaded and unsure of what you can actually accomplish in the new year. We are here to serve as a sort of a guiding light on achievable new year’s resolutions!

Short Term Goals

Resolutions are just a fancier way of saying goals, agreed? Looking into the future can be difficult for some more than others depending on the circumstance however setting short-term goals is a bit more realistic for the current world climate. Setting attainable goals like starting the habit of waking up at 5 am to go on an early morning run or only eating meat 3 days out of the week to shed some of those holiday pounds are things that you can do that the pandemic can’t get in the way of necessity. Learning how to set short-term goals will have a great effect on your self-esteem and overall morale. Accomplishing something can bring on a feeling of fulfillment that may have been otherwise missing. An interesting aspect of setting short-term goals are they tend to have the benefit of supporting our long-term goals.

Long Term Goals

Setting long-term goals takes a bit more patience and most of all consistency. Staying focused on your small-term goals should be great practice on building your ability to remain consistent enough to take on a larger scale want/need and see it through to its completion. For example, a short-term goal of changing your diet reaps benefits that you can feel which should heighten your inspiration. That inspiration can be the fuel you need to go for that job you always wanted. The self-reflection that comes from succeeding on a smaller goal could lead to you taking a class or studying up on what you want to accomplish in a 3-6-month period. Thus, preparing you for success in planning and attaining the long-term goal

No matter the type of goal or resolution, efficient planning and consistency will reap great results. Aperto wishes you a happy new year. Here’s to accomplishing all that we set our minds to in 2021!
